George Edgar Hodder March 05, 1925 - March 22, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Atlantic Funeral Home (Halifax) HODDER, George Edgar - 80, Halifax, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 22, 2005, in the Palliative Care Unit of the QEII Health Sciences Centre. He was the beloved husband of 61 years of Helen (Faulkner); loving father of daughters, Carol (Joe) Burke, Abbotsford, B.C.; Linda (Harry) Sutherland, Aldergrove, B.C.; Wendy (late Joe) Pelley, Tantallon; Cindy (Danny) Dyer, Tantallon; and son, Graham (Lynda) Hodder, St. Croix; dear grandfather of Howard Sutherland, David (Lori-Ann) Burke, Jan Pelley (Craig Sampson), Shawn Pelley, Jeffrey (Aimee) Hodder, Ryan (Shelby) Hodder, Mathew (Rhea) Gallant, Michael Gallant, Emily Dyer; and great-grandfather of Jesse, Christopher and Elizabeth Burke, Kevin Sutherland and Zackary Hodder. He is also survived by his brother, Roy (Dot) Hodder, Lower Sackville; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Fred and Sarah (Banfield) Hodder; sisters, Ester "Etta" Faulkner, Ethel McGee; brothers, Andrew "Andy", David, Donnie, and son-in-law, Joe Pelley. George served in the Canadian Army Signal Corps during the Second World War. he was employed after the war with the CNR in Halifax until his retirement in 1987. He was also a long-serving member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 142 in Fairview. He will be missed by his family and many friends. Arrangements entrusted to Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayers Rd., Halifax from where visitation will be held today from 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will take place on Saturday, March 26, at 10 a.m. in St. John's Anglican Church, Halifax. Reception to follow in the church hall. Interment in Oakridge Memory Gardens, Lower Sackville. Family flowers only. In lieu of flowers, donations made to the Palliative Care Unit of the QEII Health Sciences Centre or Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
