Mr. Erwin K. Gilliss 1924 - 2005 MIRAMICHI, NB - Mr. Erwin Keith Gilliss, of the Point Aux Carr Road, Napan Bay, passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, on Friday, March 25, 2005, at the age of 80. Born in Chatham, he was the son of the late Cole and Bertha (Sweezey) Gilliss. He was a laborer and woods worker and an adherent of Carmel United Church, Napan. He was a Veteran of the Second World War, serving overseas with the North Shore Regiment as well as the Carleton York Regiment. He is survived by four daughters, Judy MacDonald (Donnie), of Bayside, Deborah MacDonald, of Miramichi, Kathy MacDonald (Avard), and Winnie Savage, all of Napan Bay; eight sons, Keith (Shirley), of Napan Bay, David (Linda), of Scarborough, ON., Stephen (Christine), of Miramichi, Kenneth, of Napan Bay, Randy (Dorothy), of Calgary, Alta., Douglas, of Scarborough, ON., Reginald (Mary Lou), of Miramichi and Terry (Tina), of Little Branch Road; two sisters, Irva McLeod (Keith), of Springhill, N.S. and Zelda Warnez, of Napan; 18 grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Linda McLenaghan, in 1997; one brother, Blain Gilliss; one brother-in-law, Fred Warnez. Visiting will be at Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King Street, on Sunday only, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral service will be held from Adams Funeral Home Chapel, on Monday, March 28, 2005, at 2 pm, conducted by Rev. David Cleveland. Interment will be in the Black River Community Cemetery, later in the spring. As expressions of sympathy, donations to any charity of the donors' choice, would be appreciated by the family.
