Ralph Slauenwhite-Eldershaw October 06, 1952 - March 22, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Atlantic Funeral Home (Dartmouth) SLAUENWHITE-ELDERSHAW, Ralph - 52, Dartmouth, passed away Tuesday, March 22, 2005, in the VG Site, QEII, after a brave battle with lymphoma. Born in Halifax, he was a son of the late Ernest Henry Eldershaw and Vivian Jean Dunn. Ralph grew up in various parts of Canada, his father having worked with the Naval Services. He lived for many years of his adult life in Alberta, where he raised and loved his children. Eventually, he moved back to the Maritimes, where he was truly home, with his wife Karen. Ralph was a friendly, loving, and creative man. He would talk to anyone, had compassion for all living things and enjoyed expressing himself through his music and gardening. Ralph started playing guitar in his teens and had been writing music for most of his life. Some of his other interests included photography, history, aircrafts, art deco, research and pursuit of antiques, particularly depression glass. Ralph is missed so incredibly much. Though he was taken from his family too soon in this physical world, we know that he has something important to do somewhere else. He left us with so many good memories and so much of his spirit. Ralph "Dad" is ever present with all of us. We will honour his spirit and live life and love to the fullest. Ralph is survived by his wife, Karen Christine Slaunwhite-Eldershaw; daughters, Daena Kim Eldershaw and Chay Ann Eldershaw; sons, Justin Ernest Eldershaw and Michael Kevin Eldershaw; sisters, Marlyn Lee Houle and Karen Lynn Ferguson (Craig); grandchildren, Tristan and Tyrone. He was predeceased by brother-in-law, Jacques Houle. Arrangements entrusted to Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main St., Dartmouth. At Ralph's request, there will be no service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Ralph's memory to Canadian Cancer Society. "Farewell Father" Bird of many feathers, young down has long gone. Just learned to use your wings, too early you flew away. You shared your words of life with song and melody. You shared your views and sight through lens of memory. Grown man and voice so tall, carefree heart is what remained. Never wanted to grow up, playful bird is how you stayed. No longer the pain you feel, your soul can be at peace. Come down and sing your songs, sing through the teasing trees. A poem written by Chay A. Eldershaw in memory of Ralph Slauenwhite-Eldershaw. October 6, 1952 - March 22, 2005
