Mrs. Bernice Margaret McKelvie (née Whitehead) October 31, 1927 - March 25, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Dodsworth & Brown Funeral Home (Ancaster Chapel) After a courageous battle with cancer, peacefully at home, with her loving husband Douglas of 57 years by her side, on March 25, 2005. Loving mother of James of Hamilton, Jane and her husband Murray Slote of Ancaster, Michael and his wife Janet of Alberta, Janice and her husband John Perrault of Burlington. Grandma will be sadly missed by grandchildren Christine and her husband Andre Gorley, Matthew, Brett, Kyle, Jason, Jennifer and great-grandchildren Austin, Caitlyn and Reese. Survived by her brother James Whitehead (Glenna) and sisters Ethel (Don Fowler), Audrey (the late Bill Ford), Donna (Sam Rizzo) and predeceased by her brother Walter Whitehead. Also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins. Bernice was a long time member of St. John's United Church in Oakville and a terrific help to her husband with his business. The family will receive friends atthe DODSWORTH & BROWN Funeral Home, ANCASTER CHAPEL, 378 Wilson St. East (905-648-3852; www.db-ancaster.ca) on Monday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service In the Chapel Tuesday at 11 a.m. with Interment White Chapel Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family. Special thanks to Dr. Sol Stern and his fellow physicians, all nurses and the extended care staff.
