OBITUARY ERNIE WILKINSON Knights of Columbus - 4th Degree Ernest "Ernie" Wilkinson, age seventy-one, passed away March 1, 2005 at the Ottawa General Hospital after a brief battle with cancer. Born in Montreal, he is survived by brother Joseph, sisters Louise Guillery, Ruth Murphy, Eileen (Gilles Larouche), and sister-in-law Jackie Wilkinson. Fondly remembered by numerous nieces and nephews, he will also be missed by many friends in Ottawa, Montreal, and Quebec City. Predeceased by brothers James and William. Ernie began teaching in Montreal, but spent most of his career with the Ottawa Roman Catholic Separate School Board as a teacher, principal, and superintendent. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus since 1952 and was a 4th degree chancellor of council no. 6217. He was also strongly active as a volunteer with many organizations including the Ottawa Police Service, St. Martin de Porres Parish and St. Brigid's Summer Camp. Friends may pay respects at the Kelly Funeral Home, 2313 Carling Avenue, Ottawa, Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Members of the Knights of Columbus Council 6217 will assemble at the funeral home for prayers Thursday at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Saturday to St. Martin de Porres Church for Mass of Christian Funeral at 10 a.m. Interment le Repos Saint-Francois D'Assise, Montreal, Monday 11 a.m. In Memoriam, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society appreciated.
