OBITUARY BORGE AARUP (Known by his friends as Bob) Passed away at University Hospital (London, Ontario) on Saturday, February 26, 2005. He will be deeply missed by his wife of twenty-five years Pia Jensen, his daughter Kariann and her mother Martha, his brothers Henning and Vagn and their families, and the many whom he touched through his life. Borge was born in Aalestrup, Denmark in 1936. He immigrated to Canada in 1957 and with Vagn, established The Danish House - La Maison Danoise in Montreal, a Scandinavian furniture and design store that set the standard for others within the industry. He moved to London in 1977 where, with his strong work ethic and love for his chosen profession, he and Pia worked together with that same spirit at Jensen's Guild House. Borge requested that he be buried in his hometown, next to his parents. Come springtime, when anemones paint the forest floor in Denmark, his ashes will be driven to his final rest on the carrier on his bicycle and he will be interred in Aalestrup. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Ark Aid Mission, 696 Dundas Street, London, N5W 2Z4, 519-667-0322 will be gratefully acknowledged. www.borgeaarup.ca Published in the Montreal Gazette on 3/5/2005
