PEIRCE, Thomas Henry Charles. BSc (Hons) Naval Architecture. Passed away in Como (Hudson), Qc, on Sunday, February 6, 2005 at the age of seventy-seven. Born on October 10, 1927 in London, England. For fifty years, Tom devoted his life work to research and development of marine transportation, with the past twenty at Transport Canada (TDC). In 1998, he was elected fellow of the Royal Institute of Naval Architects (London) and in 2002 became involved in the creation of the Great Lakes and St. Lawrence branch of the R.I.N.A. He is survived by his wife Helen (nee Rausch Von Traubenberg), his children Barbara (Paul), Julia (Jacques), and Madeleine, as well as many grandchildren. His enthusiasm and dedication to life will be greatly missed by all. Published in the Montreal Gazette on 3/5/2005
