BRYANT, F/L., H. E., (Harry) AE, CD RAF/RCAF Retired World War II Veteran After a valiant struggle with a terminal illness, he died peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday, March 6, 2005, aged 88 years. Beloved husband for 60 years of Joan (nee Kenneth), beloved father of Virginia (Stephen Jodoin) and Christopher and beloved grandfather of Patrick and Brendan. Starting at Heston near London England in 1933, he had a long and successful career in aviation. He became a licensed ground engineer, flew in 24 and 48 Squadrons RAF during the war, as an airline pilot with Scottish Airlines post-war and after emigrating in 1952 with the family as an RCAF pilot and engineering officer. He was also an accident investigator and retired from the RCAF in 1965. He joined the Civil Aviation Administration in the Department of Transport and finally retired in 1979. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather, a devout Christian and supporter of his Church and many charities. The family would like to thank Dr. Robert Taylor, the wonderful nurses and the staff at Queensway-Carleton Hospital for all their care and attention. Friends may visit at the Westboro Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 403 Richmond Road at Roosevelt on Friday, March 11 from 2 to 4 p.m. A requiem mass will be held at the Cathedral of The Annunciation of The Blessed Virgin Mary, 289 Spencer Street on Saturday at 12 noon.
