COTTER, Philip Donald Joseph May 19, 1955 - March 6, 2005 Phil passed away suddenly in Victoria at the age of 49. Phil was loved and will be greatly missed by Anne, his loving wife of 28 years; children Mathew (Thersa), Geoff, Rebecca (Jim); mother Lucy (Bill); siblings Diane, Richard (Gaye), Raymond, Linda (Frank), Janet, Judy (Pat), Bryan; good friend 'Kim-Co', as well as many other family and friends. Predeceased by his father Donald, 1994. Born and raised in Ottawa, Phil arrived in Victoria at the age of 18 and married in 1976. He held several jobs which included Victoria Iron Foundry, Trio Ready Mix, and Waste Management where Phil remained a loyal and steady worker for over 24 years. Hobbies and interests included camping, travelling, racing bicycles with Wheelers Cycle Club as an 'A' class rider. Phil coached youth soccer for both his sons, and accompanied his daughter to Kenpo lessons where he earned himself a Brown Belt. Phil enjoyed riding his motorcycle, playing chess, darts, ping-pong, fishing, canoeing, religion, chatting and playing games with his on-line friends. Phil played harmonica, oboe, guitar, alto sax, recorder and flute. Phil is remembered as a loving and devoted husband and proud father, a 'super-genius uncle', and the life of the party. A truly amazing man, who touched the lives of many, and will be remembered for his love of life and family as well as his compassion for others.
