POWELL, Edmund T. "Eddie" (4th Degree Knights of Columbus, Past Grand Knight, Smiths Falls, member of the Cartier Assembly, Ottawa, Retired C.P. Rail Engineer) Peacefully, in hospital, Smiths Falls surrounded by his family on Saturday, March 19, 2005, Edmund T. "Eddie" Powell in his 88th year. Beloved husband of Elvira C. (Burnside) Powell. Loved father of Robert (Cindy) of Victoria, B.C., Randy (Allana) of Kingston and Ron (Lise Russell) of Ottawa. Sadly missed by his grandchildren, Matthew and Jeremy, Cody, Laura and Braelynn. Dear brother of Father Bill Powell of Kingston and brother-in-law of Robert (Barbara) Burnside of Uxbridge. Fondly remembered by his niece Patricia (John) Smith of Smiths Falls. Predeceased by brothers John and George and sisters Zita and Betty Powell. Friends may pay their respects at the Blair & Son Funeral Home, Smiths Falls on Monday, March 21st from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Francis de Sales Church, Smiths Falls on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. Interment, St. Francis de Sales Cemetery. In remembrance, contributions to the "Into the Future" Fund of St. Francis de Sales Church, the Children's Wish Foundation or the Smiths Falls Community Hospital Foundation (Palliative Care) would be appreciated.
