JONES, Lawrence (Larry) A. It is with deep sadness and grief that Barbara and Marilyn announce the sudden and unexpected passing of their beloved father on Thursday February 17, 2005, while visiting family in Vancouver, British Columbia. During World War II, Larry served in Canada, Iceland, England, Italy and North West Europe. Post war service in the Regular Armed Forces included two tours with NATO in Germany and two separate missions in India, Kashmir and Pakistan serving with the United Nations. Larry was a qualified parachutist and a graduate of the Army Staff College in Kingston, Ontario. He retired from the Canadian Armed Forces ranked as Major L.A. Jones. Larry is predeceased by his first wife, Viola (nee Sloan) and second wife, Joannah (nee O'Donnell). He is survived by his two daughters Barbara and Marilyn, grandsons Kevin and Matthew and loving granddaughter Alexis. Following cremation, a private family memorial will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or Ontario Heart and Stroke Foundation would sincerely be appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to the Giffin-Mack "Danforth" Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, 2570 Danforth Avenue, Toronto, 416-698-3121. Published in the Ottawa Citizen from 3/27/2005 - 3/28/2005
