HANDFORD, Robert Lewis Bob passed away suddenly on Thursday, March 24, 2005 at his home in Blind Bay, BC at the age of 67. Raised in Renfrew, Ontario, he was the son of the late Dr. Edward Young Handford. Bob was a loving husband to his wife of 42 years, Mary Jane, a father and friend to his four children Andrew, Martha, Laura and Matthew, and their spouses Moira-Ann, Jared, Sean (predeceased) and Bobbi, and a mischievous, fun-loving Grampa to his five grandchildren, Emily, Cameron, Luisa, Joshua and Aaron. Bob is also survived by brothers Edward of Griffith, Ontario and James of Renfrew, Ontario. Bob was a proud Queen's University alumnus who found great joy in watching his four children continue the Queen's tradition. Bob and Mary were teachers in the Peterborough school system before retiring to the West Coast to be closer to their children. As a teacher, school counselor and hockey and football coach, Bob positively touched the lives of many hundreds of students and helped them find their way in life. Bob always believed that family came first and built a solid foundation of love and support on which his family will continue to grow. He will be greatly missed for his wonderful sense of humour, his love for the outdoors, and his tremendous strength of character. Funeral services are being arranged by the McPhail & Perkins Funeral Home in Renfrew, Ontario (613-432-2866). Visitations: Wednesday, March 30th 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. A funeral service will be held at Renfrew Presbyterian Church at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 31.
