Shirley Anne MADILL

Shirley Anne Madill March 31, 1931 - March 26, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Atlantic Funeral Home (Lower Sackville) MADILL, Shirley Anne - 73, Mount Uniacke, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Saturday, March 26, 2005, at 3:45 p.m. in QEII Health Sciences Centre, Halifax. Born March 31, 1931, in Sudbury, Ont., she was the only child of the late George and Goldie (Steadman) Madill (South Uniacke). She is survived by daughters, Jill Joanne Pangborne, Barrie, Ont.; Shawn Maureen Mole, Calgary; Kelley Kathleen Murphy, Halifax; grandchildren, Lucie and Daniel, Calgary. She was a member of the Writer's Federation of Nova Scotia, Schizophrenia Society, Legion Branch 165 and St. Paul's United Church in Mount Uniacke. Shirley's secretarial career spanned many years. Throughout her lifetime, she overcame many hardships both mental and physical. In recent years she found contentment living in Parkview Manor, Mount Uniacke, where she enjoyed her card games, friends and neighbours. A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 21, at 2 p.m. in St. Paul's United Church, Mount Uniacke. Shirley had a lifelong interest in writing and her stories and poetry were published in newspapers and story collections.
