Edna Mildred Greenough August 28, 1917 - March 28, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Atlantic Funeral Home (Dartmouth) GREENOUGH, Edna Mildred - 87, Ocean View Manor, died March 28, 2005, in Dartmouth General Hospital. Born in Hermitage Bay, NL, she was a daughter of the late George and Maria Ann (Simms) Dowding. Edna was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was a member of St. George's Anglican Church, Halifax. She was employed with Birks Jewelers and later as a ward clerk at the VG Site, QEII, until her retirement. For many years Edna was an IODE member of the Westmount Chapter. Surviving are son, Gary (Sharon), Dartmouth; grandchildren, Shauna (Jonathan) Richardson, Calgary, Alta.; Jason, South Korea; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by husband, Horace; brother, Hubert; sisters, Blanche and Emily. Cremation has taken place. The family will receive visitors on Saturday, April 2, from 10:30-11 a.m. in Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main St., Dartmouth, at which time a memorial service will be held, Rev. Dr. Brian Spence officiating. Burial in Dartmouth Memorial Gardens. A reception will follow in Atlantic Funeral Home Family Reception Centre. Family flowers only.
