Edith Tower SACKVILLE, NB - The death of Edith Tower, age 92, of Sackville, widow of Gerald Tower, occurred at the Sackville Memorial Hospital on Friday, March 25, 2005. Born in Upper Rockport, she was a daughter of the late Alton and Edith (Ward) Read. Edith was a member of the Dorchester United Baptist Church, the Dorothy Barnett WMS and Dorchester Senior Citizens. She taught Sunday School for 25 years and was a choir member for over 50 years, and was active in many church positions. Edith will be sadly missed by a daughter, Miriam, Moncton; two sons, Donald (Shirley), Riverview and Norman (Ann), Canmore, AB; eight grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Gerald in 1996; six brothers, Harris, Rayworth, Alton, Hollis, Ainsley and Lindsey; and two sisters, Essie (infancy) and Margaret. The remains are resting at the Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge Street, Sackville (364-1300) with visitation on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The Funeral Service will be held at the Dorchester United Baptist Church on Monday, March 28, 2005 at 2 pm, burial in the Fairhaven Memorial Gardens, Moncton. www.jonesfuneralhome.ca [Times & Transcript]
