COLWELL, HILDA JUANITA The death of Hilda Colwell occurred at the Oromocto Public Hospital on Sunday, March 27th, 2005. Born in Saint John, NB she was the daughter of the late Harry and Myrtle (Globe) York. Hilda was a life member of the Jemseg Baptist Church as well as organist for over 40 years. She was a retired member of the NB Teachers Association, Director of Provincial PC Women's Association, President of Mayflower Senior Citizens Club, a life member of Lower Jemseg Women's Institute, a life member of United Baptist Women's Missionary Society as well as an Honorary life member of the Oromocto, Gagetown PC Association. She is survived by her husband, George; her sons, Alan (Sandra) Colwell of Musquash, NB and Stephen (Jean) Colwell of New Maryland, NB; her daughters, Judith Colwell of Sackville, NB and General Linda Colwell of Ottawa, ON; her grandchildren, Bradley, Janna, Bryan, Shawnee and Timothy Colwell; her sister, Marjorie (Gerald) Hastings of Fredericton, NB; as well as her sisterin-law, Myrtle Farris of Fredericton, NB. She is predeceased by her parents, Harry and Myrtle York; her step-father, Claremont Dykeman and by her brother-in-law, Donald Colwell. Visiting will be held at the Oromocto Select Community Funeral Home on Monday, March 28th, 2005 from 7-9 pm and Tuesday, March 29th, 2005 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will take place on Wednesday, March 30th, 2005 at 2:00 pm from Jemseg Baptist Church. Rev. Laurie Fenety will officiate. Interment will take place in the Jemseg Baptist Cemetery at a later date.
