Charlie E. Phillips Charlie Edward Phillips, 87, of Kenneth E. Spencer Memorial Home and formerly of Moncton, passed away suddenly at The Moncton Hospital on Wednesday, March 30, 2005. Born in Toronto, ON, son of the late Charles and Violet (Mitchell) Phillips. Charlie enjoyed his golf, was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Moncton Branch # 6, 31 Club, Air Force Veterans Club Ltd, Air Force Veterans Club of Moncton, retired from Maritime Beverages and a vet of World War II serving in the R.C.A. Charles played with the Montreal Canadians in 1942-43 before going overseas. Charlie will be sadly missed by his daughters, Lynda Hicks (Lloyd) and Barbara Humphrey (Brian), both of Moncton; sons, Edward (Judy), Gary (Susan), John (Jack) (Pauline), Greg (Debbie), Michael (Lela), and Robert (Paula) all of Moncton, and Ronnie (Darlene), Elgin; 25 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; brother, Gordon, Brandon, Manitoba; several nieces and nephews. Charlie was predeceased by his wife, Phyllis (Trites) on Nov. 29, 1983; and brothers, Bill and Howard. Visitation at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995), Thursday, March 31, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. The Royal Canadian Legion Moncton Branch # 6 will hold a memorial service Thursday at 7:00 pm. Funeral Service at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home Chapel, Friday April 1, 2005, 2:00 PM, Rev. Jonathan Steeper officiating. Reception following the service. Interment in Elmwood Cemetery, Moncton.
