Frederick William CLARKE

Fred W. Clarke 1921 - 2005 BLOOMFIELD, NB - The death of Frederick William Clarke, 83, of Bloomfield, NB, and formerly of Moncton, occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Tuesday, March 29, 2005. Born in Campbellton, NB, August 9, 1921, he was the son of the late John T. and Marie B. (Ferguson) Clarke formerly of Petitcodiac. Fred joined the NB Rangers in Salisbury, NB in 1939 at the age of 18 years, serving his country for six years and two months. He saw action in France, Belgium, Holland, and the front lines of Germany at war's end, for which he was awarded seven medals. Upon his return to NB in 1945, he married Marion Ida Jane Dunn of Campbellton. They resided in the Moncton area with their two children Doris and Robert. Fred was employed at No.5 Supply Depot as a driver from 1945 until his retirement in 1980. His wife, Marion predeceased him in May 1959. In 2001 Fred moved to Bloomfield with his daughter and son-in-law, Doris and Robert Flecknell. In addition to his daughter; he is survived by his son, Robert and daughterin-law, Marlene of Saint John; three granddaughters, Laura (Bruce) Langdon, Sue Ann (Blair) MacDonald, and Melissa all of Hampton, NB; two great grandchildren, Celeste and Adam Langdon; as well as three sisters, Mary Kay of Petitcodiac, Dorothy (Yvon) Leblanc of Moncton, Helen (Doug) Culligan of Sarnia, ON; two brothers, Jim (Marg) of ON, and Arden (Joan) of Moncton; as well as six nieces and nephews. In addition to wife and his parents, he was predeceased by a niece, Brenda Fall. Resting at Cadman's Funeral Home (857-1110), 114 Alma Street, Moncton with visiting hours on Thursday, March 31 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. The Funeral will be held in the funeral home on Friday April 1, 2005 at 1 pm, followed by a gathering in the reception room of the funeral home. Interment will be in Fairhaven Memorial Gardens. The Royal Canadian Legion will conduct a memorial service in the funeral home on Thursday evening at 7:30 pm.
