Stanley Fisher Hattie DORCHESTER, NB - The death of Stanley Fisher Hattie, age 88, of Dorchester, occurred at the Sackville Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, March 30, 2005. Born in Glenelg, NS, he was a son of the late Ernest and Jean (Fisher) Hattie. A veteran of World War II, he served in the Royal Canadian Airforce as a nurse from 1943 to 1946. From the Airforce he went to work at the Dorchester Penitentiary retiring in 1978 as Senior Hospital Administrator. He was also active in his community as a member and Deacon in the Dorchester United Church, a member and volunteer of the Royal Canadian Legion, and a volunteer for the Red Cross Society. He will be sadly missed by his son, Keith (Marilyn), New Annan, PE; three daughters, Katherine (John) Curtis, Nackawic, Karen (Bill) Fraser, Burnaby, BC, Kendra (Ralph) Campbell, Fredericton, NB; eight grandchildren, Sandra, Steven, Beth, Shawna, Doug, Jamie, Alexander and Katie; four great grandchildren, Hailey, Avery, Zachery, and Brett; a brother, Cecil (Marjorie), Glenelg, NS; a sister, Ethel Archibald, Denver, NS; and a sister-in-law, Marion Hattie, East River St. Mary's, NS. He was predeceased by his wife, Agnes in 1996; a brother, Clayton; and sisters, Mabel and Ella. The remains are resting at the Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge Street, Sackville, NB (506-364-1300) on Friday, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. The Sackville Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion will hold a tribute service at 6:45 pm at the funeral home on Friday Evening. The Funeral Service will take place at the funeral home on Saturday, April 2, 2005 at 2 pm. Burial will take place in the Dorchester Rural Cemetery in the spring.
