MERCER, IDA "SNOWIE" - Ida "Snowie" Mercer of Ratters Corner, passed away on March 30, 2005 at the age of 78. Born in Ireland on January 29, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Martha (Abraham) McConnell and the beloved wife of Hazen Mercer who passed away 2005. Snowie is survived by her five daughters: Jennie MacDonald (Ralph) of Sussex, Paulette Mitton (Bob) of Ratters Corner, Bonita Lackie (Ed) of Ratters Corner, Brenda Mercer of Kalowna, BC and Pamela McDermott (John) of Quirk Road, Sussex, five sons, Wayne (Joyce) of Picadilly, Joe (Pat) of Sussex, Ronnie (Deborah) of Guelph, Bard (Cheryl) of Saskatchewan and Trent of Ratters Corner, his daughter-in-law, Shirley Mercer of Smith Creek, her brother, Stanley McConnell (Emily) of Centreville, 29 grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews. Snow was predeceased by her sons, Earl and John, nine brothers, Joe, Billy, Jack, Andy, Bobby, Jim, Donald, Raymond and Cecil and her four sisters, Elizabeth, Ivy, Olive and Violet. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176), with visitation on Thursday 2-4, 7-9. The Funeral Service will be from Wallace Memorial Chapel on Friday, April 1, 2005 at 11:00 am. Interment will take place at Trinity Cemetery in the spring. [Telegraph-Journal]
