Iréne Marguerite Poirier (1920-2005) Iréne Marguerite Poirier, 84, of Murphy Ave., Moncton, N.B., formerly of Grande-Digue, passed away at Villa Du Repos, Moncton on March 31, 2005 after a lengthy illness. Born in Bouctouche, N.B. on July 10, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Alex Nowlan and the late Marie Blanche Melanson. She was a retired housewife. She attended La Visitation Roman Catholic Church, Grande-Digue. Iréne is survived by her husband, Gerard Poirier; her daughter, Annette Poirier of Dieppe; two sons, Raymond Poirier of Lynn, Mass, Michel Poirier of Dieppe; one brother, Albert Nowlan (Rose) of Dieppe; several cousins, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one brother, Alfred; three half brothers, Antoine, Andy, Arthur; three half sisters, Eva, Nora and Anita. Resting at Coopérative Funéraire Passage Funeral Co-operative, Shediac Bridge, N.B., with visitation on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm and Monday from 2 pm till 3:30 pm. The Funeral Service will be held at La Visitation Roman Catholic Church, Grande-Digue on Monday, April 4, 2005 at 4 pm. Interment will take place in the Parish Cemetery at a later date. Requested by the family, donations to the Memorial of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
