Dora Gwynne Bethune December 02, 1927 - April 04, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Leyden's Funeral Home (Calgary) It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dora G. Bethune, beloved wife of Elmer S. Bethune, on Monday, April 4, 2005 at the age of 77 years. Dora will be dearly missed by her husband Elmer; son Rob Bethune, daughter-in-law Elaine and grandchildren Carly and Jay of Calgary; daughter Carol (Bruce) Kelemen of Bragg Creek, AB; sisters Mary Collinson of Calgary and Enid Gray of Morcambe, Lancaster, England; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Dora was predeceased by her parents Walter and Nena Speight, brother Norman Speight, sister Nan Rowbotham and brother-in-laws Stan Gray and Bill Collinson. Dora will be also be sadly missed by the many people whose lives she touched in her special and cheerful way. Dora was born in Morcambe, Lancaster, England on December 2, 1927 and immigrated to Canada in 1953 where she met her loving husband Elmer in 1956. She proudly became a Canadian Citizen on June 22, 1964. She enjoyed traveling with her husband following retirement in their RV to many U.S. southern locations where they met and enjoyed numerous friendships. Travelling to visit family and friends was always a priority to Dora as well as occasional trips to Las Vegas. She will be sorely missed. The family invites friends and relatives to a Celebration of Dora’s Life at the Southern Alberta Pioneers Memorial Building (3625 – 4 St. SW) on Wednesday, April 13, 2005 at 2 pm – Casual Attire.
