ROSS, DONALD JOSEPH The death of Donald J. Ross of Oromocto, NB occurred at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on Tuesday, April 5, 2005. Born in Lower Newcastle, NB, he was the son of the late Joseph and Mary (Chevarie) Ross and husband of the late Elizabeth (Brennan) Ross. Don served in the Canadian Armed Forces from 1951 until 1980 when he retired as a Sergeant in the Medical Corps after serving 29 years of service. Don was also a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. He is survived by his loving companion, Viola Wilkins of Oromocto; his daughters, Donna Brown (Allison) of Saint John, NB and Carol Burke (John) of Moncton, NB; step-son, Edward Wilkins (Terry) of Lincoln, NB; grandchildren, Patricia Brown, Stephen Brown and Paul Burke; step-grandchildren, Buddy, Nicole and Gary Wilkins; as well as his nieces and nephews. Don was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Mary Ross; his first wife, Elizabeth; his brothers, Frank and Freddie and his half-sister, Ruby. Visiting will take place on Monday, April 11, 2005 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Oromocto Select Community Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, April 12, 2005 at 11:00 am from St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. Rev. Ken Weir will officiate. Interment will take place in the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Cemetery at a later date.
