DECHAINE, Alphonse Joseph---- In loving memory of Alphonse Joseph Dechaine, 85 years of Sudbury who passed away Saturday, January 8th, 2005 at the Sudbury Regional Hospital - St. Joseph's Health Center. He was born in St. Lina, Alberta and married Rita (Lachance) in 1952 in New York. Alphonse came to Sudbury in 1953 previously residing in Alberta. He had been a mechanic at INCO having 31 years service retiring in 1984. He was a member of the INCO Quarter Century Club. A devout Roman Catholic he belonged to Holy Redeemer Church and he was a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus Council # 10888. A proud Canadian he served overseas with Canadian Army and he was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Br#76 Sudbury. He enjoyed working at the Sudbury Senior's Workshop Alphonse was devoted to his family to whom he leaves a rich legacy of love, faith and goodness. Beloved husband of Rita (Lachance) Dechaine of Sudbury. Loving father of Dennis (wife Anne) of Wahnapitae, Gerry (wife Liette) of Sudbury, stepson Ronald Thompson (wife Bella) of Hawaii and Iona MacRae of Sudbury. Cherished grandfather of Yves (wife Shanna), Angele, Luc, Daniel, Keri and Aloha; great grandchildren Dominic, Darian, Cheyenne and Chevyanne. Dear son of John Alfred and Rose Anna (Dallaire) Dechaine predeceased. Dear brother of Helen Michaud and Leo (wife Catherine) both of Alberta and the late Leonne Durochers, Honore, Eudore, Wilfrid, Francois, Victor and Emile all predeceased. Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Resting at the JACKSON AND BARNARD FUNERAL HOME, 233 Larch St. , Sudbury. Funeral Mass in Holy Redeemer Church, 1887 Bancroft Dr. , Sudbury, Tuesday, January 11th, 2005 at 10 a. m. Cremation at the Parklawn Crematorium. Prayers 8 p. m. Monday. A memorial service will be held under the auspices of the Royal Canadian Legion Br. #76 Sudbury Monday at 7:30 p. m. Donations to the Sudbury Regional Hospital - Heart Equipment Fund or War Amps would be appreciated.
