LAROCHE, Ernest "Pete"---- In loving memory of Ernest "Pete" Laroche who passed away suddenly at his home on Tuesday, January 4, 2005 in his 86th year. Born in Notre Dame de Pontmain, Quebec to the late Alfred and Ida (nee Lebrun) Laroche, and was raised in Timmins. Beloved husband of Irene (nee Peacock) predeceased April 10, 1996. Loving father of Carmen (Ralph) Whynott of Windy Lake and Louise (Danny) Besserer of Onaping. Lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Richard (Nathalie) Whynott and Kevin (Angele) Whynott, both of Onaping, Samantha (fiancé Chris) of Georgetown and Nicholas (friend Isabelle) of Lively. Loving great-grandfather to Brent, Cassandra, Emily and Katelyn Whynott. Cherished brother of Simone (Art) Lachapelle of Cartier, Hermone (Ernie) Landers, Annette (Paul) Labarre and Cecile (Bert) Tremblay, all of Timmins. Predeceased by sisters Jeanne, Muriel, Emelia and brothers Donat and Ovila. Sadly missed by many nephews and nieces and close friends, especially his caring long time neighbours, Benny and Adele Rinaldo. A long time resident of Onaping since 1954, Pete dedicated 30 years as an employee of Falconbridge Limited until his retirement in 1984. Serving as a corporal in WWII, Pete was also a member of St. Bartholemew's Parish, the Onaping Fall's Golden Age Club and the Royal Canadian Legion, Br. 503. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and took great pride in his skill at carpentry. Always willing to lend a hand, give advice or just be there to listen to our problems. His undying love of the scrap business provided him with a retirement pastime that left his trademark in the community. The neighbourhood will not be the same without him. At Pete's request, there will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 8, 2005 at 11:00 a. m. , St. Bartholemew's Parish, Levack, Ontario. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Pete's memory to the Sudbury Regional Hospital Heart Equipment Fund. (Arrangements entrusted to the LOUGHEED FUNERAL HOME).
