RIVEST, Rhéal "Red" ---- (Sir Knight St-Jacques Assembly) The family announces with sorrow his death, Monday January 3rd, 2005 in Sudbury, at the age of 66 years. Son of the late Olymbe and of the late Anna (née Michel) Rivest. Beloved husband of Cécile Rivest (née Chénier) of Hanmer. Loving father of Danny (Claudette), Liette Haert (Wayne) and André (Mariette Bradley) all of Hanmer. Dear brother of Murielle Girouard (late Lionel) and Denise Piette (Joseph) all of Verner, André (Thérèse) of Val Caron, Florian (Georgette) of Dundas, Chantal Clark (Frank) of Niagara-on-the-Lake, Henriette Arbour (Ernest) and Noël (Rosa) all of Lavigne and Isidore (Helen) of Garson. Predeceased by his brothers Marcel (Germaine of Sturgeon Falls), Edgar (Thérèse of Sturgeon Falls) and Germain. Lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Stephan, Anyse, Mélanie, Christine, Shenelle, Zachary and Britney. Sadly missed by many nieces, nephews and friends. Dear brother-in-law of Gérard Chénier, Lucienne Lachance (Normand), Fernand Chénier, Rhéal Chénier and Leo Chénier all of Hanmer. Predeceased by his brothers-in-law Henri, Germain and by his sister-in-law Suzanne Frappier (Claude of Chelmsford). Red was a well liked, giving and loving person to everyone he met, no matter how brief the moment. Mr. Rivest worked 17 years for INCO starting at Levack Mine, North Mine then Kirkwood Mine. For the last 30 years, Rhéal was owner and operator of R. Rivest and Sons Haulage in Hanmer. Rhéal was a member of the Knights of Columbus council 5005, Hanmer in the 3rd degree and a member of the 4th degree St-Jacques Assembly, Hanmer. The family will receive friends at the CO-OPERATIVE FUNERAL HOME, 4570, St-Joseph Street, HANMER, Wednesday from 2-5 and 7-9:30 p. m. Mass of Christian burial will be held Thursday January 6th, 2005 at 11:00 a. m. in St-Jacques Church, Hanmer. Donations to the Northern Cancer Research Foundation or to the Multiple Sclerosis Society would be appreciated.
