Brendan DOWNEY

DOWNEY, Brendan Joseph - In loving memory of Brendan Joseph Downey. Sadly on February 16, 2005 at 12:37 a.m., Brendan slipped away after a courageous battle with cancer. Much loved son, brother, uncle and great friend. He leaves behind his brother Anthony (Rita) of Ireland, sisters, May (predeceased Johnnie Thompson) of England, Sadie (Des Thompson) of Burlington, Jennie (Michael Sommers) of Ireland. Predeceased by his brother Paddy (Carmel of Ireland). Beloved son of Paddy and Sally Downey both predeceased. Brendan will be remembered for his love of life, a good joke and his game of golf. He had the greatest friends in the world. George Courtney, Paddy Foran, Paddy Byrne, Timothy Murphy, Corey, Lisa, Sherri, Jennifer and Louise. Very special thanks for the care and support to friends, Elaine Courtney and Kathy Kyrzakos. He was never alone. Thank you. Special thanks to nurse, Karen Dwyer and Dr. Shahata at the Northeastern Cancer Centre. Brendan was a member of the United Association of Plumbers and Pipefitters, Local 800, Sudbury. He was also a member of the Irish Heritage Club of Sudbury. The Grumblers Golf Society Wednesday night team will miss him. There will be a celebration of Brendan's life at Grumblers English Pub, Regent Street on Saturday, February 19th, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. All welcome.
