JAGIELLO, Stanley - In loving memory of Stanley Jagiello, August 19th, 1926 - February 12th, 2005. After a two decade long battle with cancer, Stanley passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family at the age of 78. He leaves behind his wife of 45 years Stanislawa and daughters Margo (Gary) of Timmins and Halina (Sam) of Toronto, sister Marysia Sobczak (Stefan) of Philadelphia as well as nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Jakub and Anna and brother Jozef. Stanley emigrated to Canada in 1948 after being recruited by the US Army to serve as a court guard during the Nazi War trials in Dachau, Germany. He worked in Toronto and Pickle Crow before settling in Sudbury to work for INCO for 36 years. Stanley was an avid fisherman and outdoorsman but his true passions were his beloved dogs and his hobby farm in Timmins. He leaves us with a legacy of perseverance and hope. The family wishes to thank Dr. Cano, Dr. Want, Audrey Oliver, Herman Reich, Kathy Donnelly and Betty-Anne and the Staff at Bayshore and the Red Cross for the nurturing care they provided to Stanley and his family. Resting at the LOUGHEED FUNERAL HOME, 252 Regent St., Sudbury. Funeral Mass at St. Casimir's Church, Tuesday, February 15th, 2005 at 10 a.m. Interment at the Park Lawn Cemetery. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Ontario Humane Society would be appreciated.
