KANGAS, Swantie John - In loving memory of Swantie John Kangas, 85 years, who passed away Monday, February 7, 2005 at the Finlandia Hoivakoti. Beloved husband of Mirelda Ermine (Downey) Kangas of Lively. Loving father of Dean of Winnipeg and Janet of Edmonton. Cherished grandfather of Crystal, Stacey, Meagan, Randi and Jonathan. Dear son of Johannes and Emilian Hanhikangas, both predeceased. Dear brother of Walter predeceased. Born in Louise Township, he married Mirelda 46 years ago. Swantie worked at INCO for 27 years, retiring in 1983. He was a life long outdoorsman, sportsman, a champion skier and runner, and a member of the Beaver Lake Athletic Club. He visited Finland in 1992 where he is survived by his cousin Tauno Hanhikangas and Martti. Sadly missed by many family and friends in Finland. "You were the best husband a man could ever be!" Funeral visitation in the LOUGHEED FUNERAL HOME, 252 Regent St. at Hazel St., Friday, February 11, 2005 at 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Cremation in the Parklawn Crematorium.
