RHODENIZER, STANLEY DOYLE - The death of Stanley 'Stan' Doyle Rhodenizer occurred at the Ridgewood Veteran's Wing on April 8, 2005 after a brief period of failing health. Born in Bridgewater, NS, December 13, 1914, the son of the late Robert Doyle Rhodenizer and Charlotte (Arenburg) Rhodenizer. During WW II he served overseas with the Canadian Infantry, 23rd Field Company. On his return to civilian life he was a salesman with Carnation Milk and Robin Hood Flour. He was appointed Secretary-Treasurer of New Brunswick Command of the Royal Canadian Legion and from there he was appointed Commandant of the Canadian Corps of Commissionaires, a position he held until his retirement in 1984. He was an avid curler, golfer and trout fisherman when he was able. He is survived by his wife Eleanor Jeanne (Ayer) Rhodenizer, his son W. Geoffrey D. Rhodenizer (wife Susan), Prince George, BC, daughters Pamela J. Haney (husband Conrad) and Deborah J. McDonald (husband Kevin), all of Saint John, his nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family having been predeceased by brothers George and Harry and sisters Dorothy, Helen Townsend and Jennie. Following cremation visiting will be held at Brenans Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row (634-7424), on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The memorial service will be held on Wednesday, April 13, 2005, at 11:00 am, from Brenans Chapel.
