MacFARLANE, PERLEY HERBERT The death of Perley Herbert MacFarlane, husband of Doris W. (Graham), of Fredericton, formerly of Nashwaak Bridge NB, occurred on April 16th, 2005 at home, surrounded by his family. Born in East Waterville, York Co. NB, on November 5, 1909, he was a son of the late David and Violet (McHatten) MacFarlane. Perley was a Farmer, Woodsman, and worked for the Department of Supply and Services before he retired. Perley was a member of the Nashwaak Bridge United Church of Canada, where he was a Church Trustee, served on the Manse Committee and for 25 years was on the Cemetery Committee. He enjoyed the Seniors Citizen Club and was an avid outdoorsman and loved fishing, hunting, and gardening. He is survived by one son Fred MacFarlane and wife Daisy of Fredericton; one daughter Pauline Ashfield and husband Leslie of Fredericton, six grandchildren, Jennifer Elliott (Paul), Deanna Stewart (Doug), Joanne McCarthy (Stephen), Heather Savoie (Albert), Angela Hunter (Kenney), and Brian Ashfield (Kelly); eleven great grandchildren Alysha, Kathleen and Robert Elliott, Alexander and Nicole Stewart, Maggie Jo and Scott McCarthy, Noah Savoie, Jessica Hunter, Grace and Jakob Ashfield; one brother Robert MacFarlane of Temperance Vale NB; two sisters Dorothy Pickard, Ida Carson and husband Paul both of Nackawic, NB; and several Sisters-in-law, brothers-inlaw, nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he is predeceased by five brothers Harold, Merle, Gerald, George and Paul; two sisters Nina Morrison and Edith MacFarlane. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Monday, April 18 from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, April 19th, 2005 at 2:00 pm from Nashwaaksis United Church, Main St. Fredericton with Rev. Franklin Curtis officiating assisted by Rev. Gil MacKenzie . Interment will take place at Nashwaak Bridge Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Nashwaak Bridge Cemetery Fund, Canadian Cancer Society or the charity of the donors choice.
