Dhanam Avadai January 18, 1925 - April 18, 2005 Mrs. C.V. Devan Nair (nee Avadai Dhanam) passed away peacefully on Monday, April 18, 2005 at 10.44 am at the McMaster University Hospital in Hamilton, Ontario . Mrs. Nair leaves behind her husband, sons, Janadas, Janamitra, and Janaprakash Devan, daughter, Vijaya Devan, daughters-in-law, Sabrina Co Devan and Geraldine Heng, grandsons, Jana Avinash Co Devan, Jana Shaan Heng-Devan, and grand daughers, Gitanjali Co Devan, Priyanjali Co Devan and Kiran Devan. She also leaves behind an elder brother, Mr. Avadai Radhakrishnan and younger sister, Mrs. Gangabhai Maniam, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. She will be sadly missed by all. Her quiet caring and concern for the welfare of all her friends and relatives were well known. Throughout her years she has touched many especially in Singapore and Canada where she has resided for the past 10 years. Viewing will take place from 2-5 pm and 7-9 pm on Thursday, April 21at the Dodsworth and Brown Funeral Home, Robinson Chapel on 15 West Avenue North, Hamilton, Ontario L8L 5B9. A Hindu funeral service at 10.30 am followed by a cremation at 11.30 am will take place on Friday, April 22nd at the West Chapel Memorial Gardens & Crematorium at 1895 Main Street West, Hamilton, Ontario L8S 1J2.
