Rhoda MANNING

MacPHERSON, RHODA G. - At the Saint John Regional Hospital on Wednesday, April 20th, 2005, Rhoda (Manning) MacPherson of Fort Howe Apartments, wife of the late Desmond R. MacPherson. Born in Saint John, NB, she is the daughter of the late George R. and Christina (Downs) Manning. When Rhoda and Desmond were first married they resided in Woodstock and later moved to Charlottetown, remaining three years in each place. They then travelled to Saint John where they remained indefinitely. Rhoda was employed with Scott Bros. Ltd for a good many years and had served as President for a period with the UCT (United Commercial Travellers). She was a member of the Church of the Good Shepherd, active in the ACW and the Quinton Heights Circle. She was also active in the Hospital Auxillary of the Old Saint John General Hospital for over 40 years, a life member of the NB Hospital Association, member of the Westfield Golf and Country Club, and the Thistle Curling Club. Rhoda was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She is survived by nieces and nephews. Rhoda was predeceased by two sisters, Ruth Regan of Long Island NY, Georgina Currie of P.E.I.; two brothers Robert F. Belding of Ottawa and Edgar A. Belding of Saint John. By Rhoda's request, there will be no visitation at the funeral home, however friends are welcome to attend the funeral service to be held on Friday, April 22nd, 2005 at 1:00 pm at Church of the Good Shepherd, Manawagonish Road, West Saint John, NB. The interment will follow in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or charity of the donors' choice would be appreciated by the family.
