MCINNIS, DONALD ARTHUR The death of Don Arthur McInnis of Oromocto, NB, occurred at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on Wednesday, April 20th, 2005. Born in Milltown, NB on March 11th, 1923, he was the son of the late Arthur and Minnie (Fishwick) McInnis and the husband of Joyce (Stevenson) McInnis. Don was a mail carrier for the town of Oromocto for 34 years and he loved his work. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus for many years, eventually becoming a third degree and a fourth degree Knight. He will be sadly missed at the Thursday night K of C Bingo, having been a caller for several years. He was also a World War II Veteran and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 93. Don will also be remembered for being an avid Boston Red Sox and Toronto Blue Jays fan. Don is survived by his wife, Joyce; children, Deatra Scheers (Nol) of Maugerville, Bill McInnis of Burton, Marlyn Penney (Keith) of Geary and Richard (Patricia Donnelly) of Lake George; grandchildren, Andrew, Michael and Paul Scheers, Misty and Scott McInnis and Melissa and Nickolas Penney and sisters, Doreen Middlemiss of Hamilton, ON and Valerie Burchill of Worchester, Massachusetts. He is predeceased by his parents; brother, Graham and infant son, Larry. Visitation will be held at Oromocto Select Community Funeral Home on Friday, April 22nd, 2005 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church on Saturday, April 23rd, 2005 at 11:00 am. Rev. Ken Weir will officiate. Interment will take place at a later date in the Milltown Catholic Cemetery, Milltown, NB.
