Emelene HOPSON

HOPSON, Emelene, Peacefully at Henley House on Monday, March 28, 2005, in her 94th year, surrounded by her loving family. Beloved wife of the late William (1989). Loving mother of Gay (Dennis) Byford, Gary (the late Erica) Hopson, and Penny (Jack) M cCollum. Grandma will be greatly missed by Shari (Glenn) Wade, Holly (Brian) Seburn, Dennis (Lisa) Byford, Kristin (Joe) Siegfried, James (Stella) McCollum, Kinndli McCollum, and Maureen Jagger and by her great-grandchildren Kyle & Megan Wade, Christ opher & Bradley Seburn, Taylor & Justin Byford, Izzy McCollum, Sara Maille and the late Miles McCollum-Siegfried. Emelene was a remarkable woman whose greatest loves were her family and friends. She found joy in nature, sports, baking, gardening and crafts, particularly her pine needle weaving and bridge playing. A woman of strong faith, Emelene was a long-time member of St. Paul St. United Church, a CGIT leader and a member of the UCW. She taught for many years at Lingarden School for developme ntally challenged children and was an active member of the Dunlop Drive and Russell Avenue Seniors' Centres. The family gratefully thanks the staff of Centennial Gardens at Henley House for their wonderful care of Emelene and for their compassionate support of the family in her final days. We would also like to thank Dr. J. Luce for his attentive care of Emelene over the years. Mrs. Hopson is at the BUTLER FUNERAL HOME, 33 Duke St. (at James) where the family will receive friends on Wednesday fr om 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. A Service celebrating Emelene's life will be held at St. Paul St. United Church, 366 St. Paul St. on Thursday, March 31, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place at Victoria Lawn Cemetery.
