FLEMING, Thelma Peacefully returned to her heavenly Father in hospital on April 5th, 2005. Elizabeth Thelma Fleming (nee Scharf) in her 80th year, after a courageous battle with chronic lung disease. Beloved wife of the late Jim Fleming. Loving mother and best friend to her children, Jamie (Nancy), Steve (Lorie), Al and Anne (L.B). Beloved grandma to Megan. Loving sister to Graham Scharf and Phyllis Reynolds (Jim). Predeceased by her parents, Steve Scarf and Edith (Stinson) Scharf, brothers Garnet Scharf and Steve Scharf (Vicki) and by her sister Edith Mcleod (Norman). Thelma will be sadly missed by her many friends at St. Aidan's Church where she worshipped as a founding member of the parish. She also served proudly as a member of St. Aidan's Altar and Ladies Guilds. A true believer and advocate of the Golden Rule, she took great comfort and strength in the words of St. Paul: "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Friends and family may pay their respects at the Kelly Funeral home, 1255 Walkley Road (east of Bank Street) on Friday, April 8th from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral service and liturgy Saturday, April 9th at 10:30 a.m. at St. Aidan's Anglican Church, 955 Wingate Drive. Interment Capital Memorial Gardens. Sincere thanks to the staff of the Ottawa Hospital (General Campus) and to Father Ralph Smith for his thoughtful and frequent pastoral care visits.
