GROSE, Edgar C. "Ed" Squadron Leader (ret'd) R.C.A.F. Peacefully on April 7, 2005, in his 78th year, with his loving wife, Gwen, at his side. His positive outlook, sense of humour, and joy in life were an inspiration to many. Predeceased by parents Cecil and Anna, and brother F/O Douglas Grose, he will be missed by a family that is grateful for his love and devotion: his wife, Gwen (nee Dickie), children, Doug, Don (Charlene Larocque) and Derrick (Lucie Gagnon) and grandsons, Tyler and Matthew. The prayers, thoughtfulness and support of his extended family and many dear friends have been especially appreciated during his final months. He joined the R.C.A.F. in 1946 as an airman and retired in 1974 as the C/O of 2 A.M.U. He then worked for OHIP and later the Carleton Board of Education until retirement. He was active with veteran's organizations including the Korea Veteran's Association and the 426 Squadron Association. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Tuesday, April 12, at the Pinecrest Reception Centre (2500 Baseline Road, Ottawa) from 2 to 5 p.m. Thank you to many caring doctors and nurses at the Ottawa General Hospital and the Elisabeth Bruyere Palliative Care Centre. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the R.C.A.F Memorial Museum would be much appreciated. Published in the Ottawa Citizen on 4/9/2005
