COOKE, Gladys Lillian (nee Bennett) Suddenly on Monday, April 18th, age 82, at the Civic Hospital in the presence of her family. Beloved wife of the late Thomas Cooke. She will be greatly missed by her daughter Susan (Ken) and son John (Danielle) and grandchildren Benjamin, Kate, Adam, Dylan and Anik. Daughter of the late Edmund and Kate Bennett and cherished sister of the late May. She will be sadly mourned by her sister and best friend Gertrude Moore and by her adoring nieces Maureen, Lynda and Vicki and nephews Rick and the late Billy. Gladys will also be missed by her sister-in-law Olive (Lorne) and brothers-in-law Mervin (Martha) and Lloyd (Elma) and also by many Cooke nieces and nephews. Gladys was a high-energy, strong-minded, friendly, fun-loving, generous, spirited individual who loved fast cars, good jokes, lively music and mechanical challenges. Friends may visit at the West Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 150 Woodroffe Avenue at Richmond Road on Thursday, April 21st from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Friday, April 22nd from 12 noon until Service time in the Chapel at 2 p.m. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made to the Ottawa Regional Cancer Society, Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Peter D. Clarke Centre. Special thanks to the loving staff at Peter D. Clarke Centre and to Dr. Walter Potoczny for his care and compassion.
