MCCARTHY, EDWARD STUART "Heart of our Family Keeper of the Faith Our Tower of Strength The Sunshine in our Lives" Edward S. McCarthy born in 1915 at Chatham, NB son of the late John and Florence (Curry) McCarthy and husband of the late Marion (Wheaton) McCarthy. He is the last surviving member of his immediate family. He spent 10 years employed with CNR working as a fireman and an engineer. He spent many years in the Barbering field and was well known in the Fredericton area for his trade. His later years until his retirement were spent working for the NBLC. He was a long time member of St. Anthony's Parish and served in many fields in association with the Parish. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and spent 43 years as a school trustee representing Barker's Point. he was an avid gardener and fisherman. He loved Irish music, good conversation and above all his family and life. He is survived by one son, Dennis (Florence), three daughters Margaret Gibson, Donna Waugh (Durwood) and Kathryn Bowen (Norman), six grandchildren, Misty, Stephen, Kevin, Brent, Chris and Erin and seven great grand children. Predeceased by and infant son John Arthur, two brothers Dunn of Chatham and Thomas of Fredericton, One sister Alice Carroll, Newcastle. The visitation will be held Tuesday, April 26, 2-4 and 7 -9 PM. Funeral service Wednesday, April 27, at 11 AM, St. Anthony's Roman Catholic Church, with Father Monte Peters officiating assisted by the Venerable John Sharpe.
