George "Art" Arthur DeYoung March 12, 1926 - December 20, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Atlantic Funeral Home (Halifax) DeYOUNG, George Arthur "Art" - 79, Halifax, passed away Tuesday, December 20, 2005, in QEII Health Sciences Centre. Born in Spryfield, he was a son of the late Frederick and Alice (Purcell) DeYoung. He was a member of Edgewood United Church and sang in the choir for many years. He enjoyed music and played many instruments since a young age. He also enjoyed playing cards and traveling. He worked at Moirs Ltd. for many years. He is survived by sister, Marion Hiltz, Halifax; son-in-law, Gordon Saab, Bedford; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Shirley (Hutt); daughter, Alice Saab; brothers, William and Leo. Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation by request. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, December 22, in Oakridge Memory Gardens, Lower Sackville, Rev. Dianne MacVicar officiating.
