Heinz Dyck September 26, 1925 - December 21, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Leyden's Funeral Home (Calgary) Mr. Heinz Dyck, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather passed away peacefully and without pain after a lengthy battle with cancer on Wednesday, December 21, 2005, with his children at his side. Heinz is lovingly remembered by his wife of fifty-five years, Anna, his children Gordon (Linda) Dyck, Nancy Turnbull and Rita Parsons, his five adoring grandchildren; Heather (Bill) Evans (nee Turnbull), Danielle Dyck, and Dan, Tracy and Christina Parsons, as well as his great grandson Benjamin Evans. Heinz was predeceased by his mother Anna, sister Tina, and brothers Jacob and Dietrich. Born September 26, 1925 in Felsenbach, Ukraine, subjected to the persecution and abduction of his Christian father at eleven years of age and having endured the ravages of WWII, Heinz arrived on Canadian soil on December 24, 1948 to a “free” new homeland. Heinz worked in the construction trade for many years before starting a twenty-five year career with the Calgary Board of Education. Over his lifetime Heinz enjoyed traveling overseas to Germany to visit family and friends and also many trips to Hawaii with his wife Anna, his children and grandchildren. Many thanks to family and friends for their continued support over the many years. Special thanks to the health care professionals who cared for Heinz during his illness. A gathering for family and friends in honour of Heinz’s life will be held at First Mennonite Church, 2600 Richmond Road SW, on Wednesday, December 28, 2005 at 1:30 pm.
