PEACE, John David. (1938 - 2005). It is with great sadness in our hearts that we announce the passing of John on Wednesday, November 30 at the age of sixty-seven from respiratory failure. He fought his battle with cancer valiantly and with dignity to the end. Devoted husband of Anne Ryan for forty years. Cherished father of Sharon (Alun Hodgson) and Gregory. Step-grandfather to Emily and Nicholas. Predeceased by his parents Frank and Wilhemina, his brothers Frank and Gordon. Survived by his sister Margaret, his brother-in-law Wilfred Turgeon, sisters-in-law Shirley Peace and Pauline Peace as well as many nieces and nephews. Retired since 1992, John was an employee of Canadian National Railways in Montreal for thirty-eight years. He later devoted his time to his many volunteer activities in Brockville. He will be lovingly missed by all those who hold him dear in their hearts. Special thanks to the ICU nursing staff at Brockville General Hospital for their care and compassion. Family and friends may pay their respects at the Irvine Funeral Home and Chapel, 4 James Street East, Brockville, Ontario on Saturday, December 3 at 9:30 a.m. A celebration of John's life will be held at 11 a.m in the Chapel. Internment to follow immediately at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery on Lyn Road. If so wishing, in memoriam donations made to the Canadian Cancer Society would be gratefully appreciated.
