OBITUARY DR. LORNE EDWARD CASSIDY M.D. It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Dr. Lorne Edward Cassidy M.D. ACPS on Wednesday, December 14, 2005, at the age of seventy-seven, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He died, at home, with great dignity, surrounded by his family, Rosita (Caletti), his loving wife of forty-nine years, daughters, Sandra (Jeff Aaron), Joanne (Pat Dolla) and Maryanne (Mark Schram), and his cherished grandchildren, Peter Aaron, Tricia and Michelle Dolla, Alexandra and Christina Schram. Dearly loved son of the late Philip and Agnes (Jones) Cassidy, he leaves to mourn his brother Jack Cassidy (Joan Hickey), sisters Joan (Albert Thomson) and Shirley (the late William Morgan), his ninety-seven year old mother-in-law Palmira (Mangano) Caletti (the late Enrico Caletti), brothers-in-law, Lorenzo Caletti (the late Sonya Hood), the late Dante Caletti (Marie Paule Michaud) and Gino Caletti (Mary Malone). His many nieces, nephews, their wives and husbands, his grandnieces and grandnephews will miss their dear "Uncle Lorne". Lorne graduated from the University of Ottawa's Faculty of Medicine in 1957. He interned at the Montreal General Hospital where he remained, practicing Internal Medicine, the profession he so dearly loved, until he retired in 1998. Dr. "C" will be sorely missed by the staff and his colleagues at the MUHC, his second home for forty-seven years. The help, support and devotion given to him so freely by all of you was profoundly appreciated and there are so many of you we wish to thank. To our family, neighbors and friends, we could not have done this without you all. We wish a special thanks to Father Marc Mignault and finally to the "angel" who helped walk us through this, there are no words to express how we feel. Visitation will be Sunday, December 18 from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Collins Clarke MacGillivray White, 307 Promenade Riverside, St. Lambert, Quebec. Funeral to be held at 11 a.m. Monday, December 19 at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 844 Notre-Dame Avenue, St. Lambert, Quebec. In lieu of flowers, his final wishes were that donations be made to the Lorne E. Cassidy M.D. Fund, Fund Office, 844 Notre-Dame Avenue, St. Lambert, Quebec, J4R 1R8.
