PETERSEN, Roger Verner With great sadness, we announce the sudden but peaceful passing in hospital of Roger Verner Petersen on Wednesday, December 14, 2005. Born on Heron Island in New Brunswick on February 27, 1929. Long-time beloved companion and best friend of Amanda "Katie" Cahill. Dear father of Steven, Karen (Jim), Penny, Heather (Tim), Verner (Lori) and the late Nancy (Dave). Remembered by their mother Leona. Stepfather of Colleen, Erin (Vince), Kerry (Jennifer) and Colin (Jody). Grandpa Roger will be missed by his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Dear brother of Ken, Dennis (Fay), Walter (Verna), Manly (Joan), Ole (Phyllis), John (Arlene), Amy (John) and Esther (Ernie). Long-time friend of Keith McGuire. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at the Duncan Funeral Home, Chapel & Reception Centre, 6971 Bank Street (formerly Highway 31, between Scrivens Drive and Metcalfe Corner) from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday. Funeral Tuesday in the Chapel for Service at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be most appreciated. Special thanks to the B5 staff at the Civic Campus of the Ottawa Hospital for their care over the last month and to the Palliative Care Program and Heather Bousada.
