GUZZO, Giovanni. There was a knock at the Gate... St. Peter smiled, opened the Gate and said "Welcome Home Giovanni, the table is set". On Wednesday, December 28, 2005 Giovanni passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family at the age of eighty-one, devoted husband of sixty-three years to Rosa Covelli. He leaves behind to celebrate his life, his children, Giuseppe (Saverina), Serafina, Salvatore, Terrie (Tom). He will be greatly missed by his eleven granchildren and his eight great grandchildren as well as many nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. The family will receive condolences on Friday, December 30, 2005 from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 10 p.m. at Centre Funeraire Cote-des-Neiges (4525 Cote-des-Neiges Road, Montreal (514) 342-8000). The funeral service will take place on Saturday, December 31 at St-Raymond de Pennafort Church at 10 a.m. (5765 Saint-Jacques Street West, corner Melrose) thence to St-Francois d'Assise Cemetery for interment in the Mausoleum St-Antoine. The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to the Palliative Care Unit at St-Mary's Hospital. Special thanks to Dr. Joan Zidulka and Dr. Maureen Rapapport and the caregivers from the CLSC (NDG). He was loved and respected by all who knew him. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Oncology Department of St-Mary's Hospital. Published in the Montreal Gazette from 12/29/2005 - 12/30/2005
