Russell: Mark Lance 1960 - 2005 Mark Lance Russell - son, brother, uncle, and friend. Born March 16, 1960 at Barrhead, Alberta, and called home on April 15, 2005 at the age of 45 years. Left to mourn his passing are his mother Kathleen Russell of Drumheller; siblings John Stirling of Ft. Assiniboine, Judith Anderson of Drumheller, Sally Russell and Ron of Lethbridge, Laine Sarka and Colleen of Red Deer, Penny (Francis) Leman of Delia, Jay (Marie) Russell of Crowsnest Pass; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Mark was predeceased by his brother Rockford Culver; grandparents John and Cora Stirling; and his Aunt Belle Cline. Mark?s wit and humour were evident from early childhood. His abiding love and appreciation of family were a constant in his life. He loved the Montreal Expos, Canadian politics, and especially theatre. Mark was an important player in the Alberta Theatre scene - being a triple threat as an actor, writer and director. Affectionately known as Sparky, Farkeyhouse, and Unka Mark, he was a wonderfully kind and compassionate person. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Mark spent the happiest part of his life in Lethbridge - doing what he loved best - theatre. It was his fondest desire to return there triumphantly some day. In his honour, his family and friends have planned a memorial service and Celebration of his Life to be held at the Yates Theatre in Lethbridge on June 11, 2005 at 1 p.m.
