Mrs. Gertrude "Gertie" Clarke Kidd (née Bowie) September 14, 1916 - December 30, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Atlantic Funeral Home (Dartmouth) KIDD, Gertrude Clarke "Gert" - 89, Eastern Passage, passed away peacefully Friday, December 30, 2005, at home. Born September 14, 1916, in Dartmouth, she was the daughter of the late James and Ethel (Holland) Bowie. Gert worked at Saint Paul's Rectory for many years as a housekeeper and later at Deluxe Dry Cleaners, Maitland Street, Dartmouth. She loved bowling and had participated in many leagues, tournaments and championship games right up until health complications did not allow her to do so anymore. Gert is survived by daughters, Joan (Edmund) Henneberry, Eastern Passage; Elizabeth "Betty" (Tony) Martincic, Mississauga, Ont.; sons, Edwin (Gloria), Dartmouth; Robert "Bob" (Joyce), London, Ont.; Tom (Lynn), Forest Hills; brother, Doug (Ruby), Gaetz Brook; sister-in-law, Pat Bowie, Dartmouth; brothers-in-law, Harry (Charlene) Kidd, Lower Sackville; Roy (Marge) Kidd, Halifax; 15 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren, great great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her first husband, Wilfred Preeper; second husband, John Kidd; grandson, Donnie Henneberry; brothers, Gerald, Bill, and Reg. Arrangements have been entrusted to Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main St., Dartmouth, where the funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Rev. Glenn MacLean officiating. Interment in Dartmouth Memorial Gardens. Reception to follow in Atlantic Funeral Home Family Reception Centre.
