May Lowe Murphy (née Smeaton) April 03, 1907 - December 24, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Oakview Funeral Home Peacefully with family at her side on Saturday, December 24, 2005 in Oakville at the age of 98. Predeceased by her loving husband of 66 years William J. Murphy. Devoted mother of Terence Patrick Murphy & wife Lorna. Beloved grandmother of Heather Murphy, Cynthia Martin & husband John, Melanie Murphy & partner Bret Alexander, Timothy Murphy & wife Sandra Tesolin. Proud great-grandmother of Matthew King, Elizabeth Martin and Michelle Murphy. Loving aunt to many nieces and nephews and extended family in Canada, England, Ireland, New Zealand, Scotland and the United States. May was a remarkable lady who touched the hearts of many and will be greatly missed. Born in Bellshill, Scotland, she immigrated to Canada at the age of 16. She lived in Montreal & Hudson Quebec, Sarasota Florida, Burlington Ontario and enjoyed over a decade at the Kensington Retirement Residence in Oakville. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at the Oakview Funeral Home, 56 Lakeshore Road West, Oakville (905-842-2252).
