SERRAVALLE, Ralph Christoper, Peacefully, with his family by his side and with great sadness, the family of Ralph Serravalle wish to announce his passing on Saturday, May 31, 2003 at the Hotel Dieu Hospital, St. Catharines after a valiant struggle w ith cancer. Beloved husband of Mary-Jo (Pennacchietti) Serravalle and loving father of Jessica. Loving and missing him are his mother, Dini (Peters) Serravalle; sisters Toni (Sam) Lucenti, Helen (Albert) Rezek, Lorraine (Gary) Zalepa; sisters-in-law, Rita (Flavio) Iammarino, Chris (Mark) Johnson, brothers-in-law, Michael (Vittoria) Pennachetti and Barrey Cook; his nieces and nephews, Alison (Joseph) Fratangelo, Gary (Tammy) Zalepa, Sarah, Susanna and Anthony Iammarino, Carolyn and Robert Johnson , Sarah Rezek, Alexandra and Katharine Lucenti, Giovanni Pennachetti and great-nephew, Nathan Zalepa. Nephew of Helen Salane and family in Flushing, New York, Marian Serravalle and family of St. Catharines and extended relatives in Holland. Predeceas ed by his father, Henry Serravalle; his mother and father-in-law, Eleanora and Giovanni Pennacchietti, his sister-in-law, Joanne (Pennacchietti) Cook; his uncles , Anthony Serravalle and Edward P. Salane. Ralph was a special teacher to his students a nd trusted friend to his colleagues. Ralph touched the lives of many through out his 18-year teaching career at Denis Morris High School. Ralph unselfishly contributed to many aspects of life at D.M. and although his presence will be sadly missed, he will live on in the heart and spirit of Denis Morris. "There are no good-byes. He will always remain in our hearts, for the rest of our lives." The family would like to express a special thank you to Dr. R. Shao, Dr. Brian Kerley, Dr. R. C. Rose and the compassionate palliative staff at the Hotel Dieu Hospital. The family will receive their friends at the KARL A. HAMMOND FUNERAL HOME AND CHAPEL, 26 Ormond Street South, Thorold on Monday 7-9 p.m. and Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The Funeral Mass and Celebration of Ralph's Life will be held at St. Julia Church, 251 Glenridge Avenue, St. Catharines on Wednesday, June 4, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. with The Rev. Monsignor Dominic Pizzacalla officiating. The Rite of Committal at Lakeview Cemetery, Thorold. The Vigil for Ralph will be Celebrated at the Funeral Home on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. In memory of Ralph, donations may be made to the D.M.
