HUGHES, Ella Jane (nee Ireland), Peacefully, at home on July 4, 2003 in her 73rd year. Loving mother of Janet Young (Clary), Lois Poirier (Danny), both of St. Catharines, Linda Zwierschke (Leonard) of Fonthill and Sharleen Spillane (Jim) of Petrolia . Devoted grandmother of Jasson Young, Pamela Poirier, Melanie Elsie (Samuel), Amanda Jong (Steven), Jayna Young, Matthew Zwierschke, Shem Spillane, Amber Holm (Jason), Yenna Spillane, Michael Zwierschke (Chiya), Carrie-Ann Williams (Jonathan), Ashle y Poirier and Kayla Ryan. Dear great-grandmother of Mackenzie Jong, Hope Williams, Austin Holm and Anthony Jong. Ella was looking forward to the safe arrival of twin great-grandchildren due in December. Also survived by two brothers and four sisters, Howard Ireland (Ann), Bruce Ireland (Jacqueline), Iris Koiter (John), Sharron Janes (Fred), Heather Lengyell (Joe) and Fern Ransome (Mickey) as well as one sister-in-law, Pat Ireland. Predeceased by her husband, Nelson Quinton Hughes, infant son Den nis Harvey James, her parents Arthur and Viola Ireland and brothers, Alan, Sherman and Terrance. Survived by many nieces and nephews. As per Ella's wishes, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, July 9, 2003 at 7 p.m . at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 93 Moffat Street. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
